Weave Wilson has been a beloved member of our staff and has developed some great relationships with parents, volunteers and students. However, over the course of many months we have been working with Weave to improve his ability to lead out in various areas within student ministry. Unfortunately, it has become clear that it would be in the best interest of the church and his family if we transitioned Weave off the staff of The Brook. This decision was reached after feedback over months provided to Weave, prayer about both current and future needs of our student ministry, and in detailed discussion with the elders of our church who also recommended this course of action. We deeply love Weave and his family and are praying for his next step in God’s will.
 
We have already planned and announced a parent meeting for Sunday, April 8 at 12:15pm in the Fusion Youth modular building. I will be in attendance to communicate again this decision and take questions. The meeting also has other important agenda items related to our student ministry.
 
These are the people who will be covering different aspects of student ministry in the interim. We thank them for their help.
 
• David Light and Phil Baker will continue to cover Wednesday nights
• Karlye Louritt will continue to cover Sunday mornings.
• John Banta has agreed to lead out in organizing the summer youth camp.
 
We are still in the midst of the hiring process for a full time student pastor. We will fill that position as soon as we feel we have found the right person, but are aiming for a decision no later than August 2018.
 
I encourage you to reach out to Weave and Heather and express your love to them. Please also pray for our student ministry and church.
